Cestrians to vote in annual Customer Service Awards

Local residents are being encouraged to vote for outstanding customer service in Chester for their chance to win £250 in city centre shopping vouchers

For the fourth year, Chester is hosting an awards celebration recognising businesses that go the extra mile for customers. Locals are being urged to vote for their favourite shops, bars and restaurants for the first round of the nominations.

Organised by the city’s Business Improvement District, CH1ChesterBID, the awards are a celebration of excellent customer service in Chester. Public votes will determine the finalists in the CH1ChesterBID Customer Service Awards.

Carl Critchlow, BID Manager at CH1ChesterBID, said: “Over recent years we have seen consistently high levels of customer service reported by consumers who have visited our city and these awards are a great opportunity for us to celebrate that.”

There will be 13 opportunities to nominate across a range of categories, including Best Coffee Shop, Health & Beauty Services and Best Independent Retailer.

Mystery shopping visits will then be conducted by independent retail experts in the three businesses with the most public votes in each category to determine the winners.

Voting is open from August 5th until September 1st and everyone that takes part in the public vote will be in with a chance of winning a £250 shopping voucher to spend in Chester city centre.

Judy Tagell, Marketing and Communications Manager at CH1ChesterBID, said: “We want to reward those city centre shops, restaurants and bars that consistently go the extra mile when it comes to looking after their customers. Our customer service is what sets Chester aside from other city centres, and it is great that we can host annual awards to champion that.”

The winning businesses will be announced at a special awards ceremony taking place in October.

Entrants are also being encouraged to support their favourite Chester businesses on social media using the hashtag #ChesterStars.
