CH1ChesterBID hatch a plan for Easter activities

The Easter Eggsplorer Citywide Egg Hunt is returning to the city centre between Saturday, March 24, and Sunday, April 15.

The Easter Bunny will be making his annual stop in Chester later this month, to hide coloured eggs in selected city centre retailers as part of CH1ChesterBID’s Easter Eggsplorer Citywide Egg Hunt.

Organised for youngsters in the region, the free family-favourite activity launches on March 24 and will be running until April 15 alongside family movies being shown at the Grosvenor Museum.

The city’s Business Improvement District (BID) is once again behind the celebration and is encouraging families to become city ‘eggs-plorers’ and discover at least ten coloured eggs hidden within businesses around the city centre.

All participants will receive an Easter sweet treat for every completed entry form, with one lucky winner winning a £50 prize bundle from The Entertainer.

Thirty stores across the city centre have signed up to be involved in the citywide hunt, including Cath Kidston, Back Alley Music, Claire House Hospice, Sofa Workshop, White Stuff and Weasel & The Bug.

CH1ChesterBID will also be hosting a selection of free Easter films for the family to enjoy at The Grosvenor Museum. Tickets are available to watch the animated family favourite, HOP, or the new live-action remake of the Disney classic, The Jungle Book and can be booked online at www.experiencechester.co.uk

CH1ChesterBID Events Manager, Emily Ghazarian said: “It’s wonderful to be bringing back such a popular free activity that we know families enjoy getting involved in.

“For children of any age, it’s a fun-filled adventure and it also allows parents or grandparents the chance to enjoy Chester in the spring time and venture into a range shops and businesses they may not have visited before.

“Easter is an occasion we look forward to every year at CH1ChesterBID and it’s great to have so many retailers involved in the activities again this year. It promises to be an ‘egg-citing’ few days in the city centre!”

Entry forms can be collected from any store hiding eggs, or from the Visitor Information Centre on Northgate Street, where families can also collect their sweet treat once they’ve found at least ten eggs.
