A Chester Sales Assistant is celebrating working at The Body Shop on Foregate Street for 30 years this week.
Barbara Botting, age 53 from Chester, has worked at The Body Shop, a well-known high street beauty retailer, since she was 23 years old.
Barbara said: “I initially applied to work in The Body Shop because I loved the products and the company’s ethics. I also had some friends that worked here who told me what a great company it was to work for.”
Prior to working at The Body Shop, Barbara had worked in a bank but left this position to start a family.
She said: “When I returned to work, I wanted something that would allow me to spend quality time with my children. Working here has enabled me to be a hands-on mum and have a job that I love – I’ve had the best of both worlds.”
“I still love working here as much as I did when I first started, and I absolutely swear by the skin products we sell – if I hadn’t used them I think I would look at least 10 years older!”
Team Leader at The Body Shop, Jennifer Leather, said: “I’ve worked with Barb throughout my whole career and she’s an absolute pleasure to work with; she’s the Mother Hen and gives us all great advice. She always comes to work with a smile on her face and has so much knowledge and experience so, naturally, our customers love her!”
“We’d like to wish her a happy 30th year at The Body Shop and we hope she stays with us for many more years to come!”
The Body Shop first opened in Brighton in 1976 and was one of the first beauty retailers to use ethically-sourced ingredients to create beauty products.
