City’s largest Trick or Treat trail is launching this Halloween

A ‘fangtastic’ range of free events are being held in Chester city centre this Halloween to help families get in the spooky spirit.

CH1ChesterBID has announced plans to launch the city’s largest Trick or Treat trail, alongside craft workshops, film screenings, and Halloween characters who are set to cause mischief for unsuspecting shoppers in the city centre.

The ‘Halloween Spooktacular’ events will take place from October 24 to November 2, with a record number of 48 shops participating in the Trick or Treat hunt throughout the city centre.

Sweet treats will be given out at each of the locations and whilst on the trail, children must find spooky symbols on their trail map to be in with a chance of winning a £50 toy bundle from Debenhams.

Trail maps can be picked up from the Visitor Information Centre at the Town Hall or downloaded online. Completed sheets should then be handed back to the Visitor Information Centre to be in with the chance of winning.

Helping the children transform into their favourite Halloween characters, the Visitor Centre will also be running face painting for the little ones on October 31st from 12pm – 4pm, for just £3.

Throughout the half term week, fancy dress for children (and any willing adults) is encouraged to complement the family-friendly Halloween characters lurking around the city. Dracula, Jack and Sally from The Night Before Christmas and Maleficent will all be roaming the streets for families to take photographs with.

Screenings of Disney Pixar’s Coco have also proven to be incredibly popular, with tickets completely selling out weeks in advance of Halloween.

“Halloween in Chester this year is set to be bigger and more spooktacular than ever before!” said Emily Ghazarian, Events Manager at CH1ChesterBID.

“We’ve created a programme of activities that will entertain young and old this year. Our craft classes, cinema screenings and Trick or Treat trail allows families to spend quality time together exploring their local city centre. It’s a great way to enjoy several hours on the high street and entertain the little ones across the half term week.

“This Halloween is set to be one of our best seasonal celebrations, with record numbers of businesses opting to get involved. Our range of partners across the city centre have all been working incredibly hard to make sure our free events are entertaining for all the family, and bring people into Chester across the entire half term.
