City’s Trick or Treat trail set to return this Halloween

A ‘spooktacular’ programme of family-friendly events are taking place in Chester city centre this October, in celebration of Halloween.

For the 3rd year, the CH1ChesterBID Trick or Treat Trail returns, with more than 50 local businesses getting into the spooky spirit.

At each of the trail locations, treats will be given out, with children also given the chance to spot spooky hidden items to complete their trail form. The forms are available to collect from the Visitor Information Centre on Town Hall Square or can be downloaded online by visiting the Experience Chester website.

Completed sheets should then be handed back to the Visitor Information Centre for the chance to win a family meal at popular local restaurant, Bollicini.

Alongside the trail, there will also be Spooktacular events including craft workshops, film screenings, and ghost tours around Chester, as the city comes alive between October 14 and November 2.

Helping children transform into their favourite Halloween characters, the Visitor Centre will also be running face-painting for little ones on October 31st from 12pm – 4pm, for just £3.

Free screenings of The Nightmare Before Christmas will also be taking place on October 27th, 28th, 30th and 31st with tickets already in high demand for the popular family favourite.

“Last year’s trail was a great success but this year is going to be even bigger and spookier than ever,” said Emily Ghazarian, Events Manager at CH1ChesterBID.

“Thanks to partners throughout the city, we have a programme of activities for everyone. Our Halloween plans are a great way to support our local businesses by encouraging families into the city centre to enjoy the trail, the free cinema screenings and the spooky ghost walks.

“Our local businesses have all played a huge part in making this happen, so we can’t wait to see the city come alive with Halloween spirit. It promises to be a frightfully good fortnight for all involved.”
