On Thursday 31st January, the multi award-winning 5* Chester Grosvenor Hotel will be inviting college and university students to observe and contribute to a live panel debate, ‘The Art of Table Manners’, centred around the evolution of restaurant etiquette and its place in the modern age.
Guest speakers will include; etiquette expert and former BBC Newsreader, Diana Mather; General Manager of the Chester Grosvenor, Richard Grove; Chairman of Bespoke Hotels, Robin Sheppard and national restaurant journalist and reviewer, Tony Naylor. University of Chester Employer Engagement Co-ordinator and TEDx Licensee and Producer, Adam Crane, will also be hosting the panel on the day.
Topics will range from hotel and restaurant traditions and service through the ages to the contentious issue of mobile phones at the dinner table. The panel will also be discussing the impact that social media has had on the dining experience. Hospitality students from the region are being invited to observe the debate and submit questions for the panel to answer.
