The Chester Tour: Guided Walks are daily from 20th July – 25th July, 10.30am and 2.00pm.  An introduction to the city’s heritage led by a member of the Guild of Tour Guides.  Meet you Guide in the Visitor Information Centre at the Town Hall for the start of the tour.  The standard prices for walks lead by the Guild of Chester Tour Guides are; Adults £7, concessions £6, families £16.  Please pay the Guide on arrival.  Booking not necessary.

Tuesday 25th July 2017:

2000 Years of Building
An introduction to Chester’s Architectural Heritage.  Guided walk led by Chester Civic Trust.  2.00pm from Bishop Lloyd’s Palace, Watergate Row.  Booking essential.

Chester Walls Walk
Join Pat Jones from the Guild of Chester Tour Guides to explore the most complete circuit of city walls in the country.  Meet at 11.00am outside the Visitor Information Centre at the Town Hall.  The standard prices for walks lead by the Guild of Chester Tour Guides are; Adults £7, concessions £6, families £16.  Please pay the Guide on arrival. The History of St John the Baptist Church
An illustrated lecture by Reverend David Chesters describing the influence and impact of St. John’s on English and Welsh history.   Begins at 3pm at St John’s Church, Vicars Lane.  Booking not necessary.

How to Read a Coat of Arms
Learn the basic principles of heraldry and armoury by looking at local examples of coats of arms.  Discover the meanings behind the features in these and then have a go at describing and creating a coat of arms.  Begins at 5pm at the Cheshire Records Office, Duke Street.  Booking essential.

FESTIVAL FINALE: Jazz at the Carriage Shed
Live performance by the Deeside Dixies, cash bar and food in another historic structure, a former carriage shed at Chester Station.  6pm – 10.30pm.  Tickets £6 available in advance or on the door.  Booking essential.
