Modern Slavery exists in the UK it destroys lives –

  • It affects people living and working in Cheshire West & Chester and across the wider Cheshire area.
  • It manifests itself in an appallingly wide range of forms.
  • Adults and children, UK nationals and those from abroad, those exploited in the sex industry, through forced labour, domestic service or forced into criminal activity.

This event is supported by the Cheshire Anti-slavery Network, who are committed to preventing modern slavery working across the region with a range of partners including police, local authorities, health and faith sector developing a coordinated approach to prevent, identify disrupt, stop and eradicate modern slavery in all forms.

 

Globally there are between 21 and 45 million people in some form of slave labour – when you are confronted by the stark reality of these numbers representing real people that the reality of modern slavery hits home.

* Fifty Eight partners with companies, charities and other organisations to address the challenges of modern slavery and improve working conditions in global supply chains.
