We think a shopping trip to Chester is a relaxing way to spend the day with your mum – you can potter round the shops, catch up over a coffee and spend some quality time together.

You can take your mum on this shopping trip any day, but we’ve popped in the Sunday opening hours if you want to do it on Mothering Sunday

If you’re looking for a coffee made with love, The Barista’s on Watergate street is the perfect place. This charming, independently owned coffee shop is run by Andy & Jaci Delooze who are passionate about providing a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all their customers. Their regulars love their coffee and one states it is ‘the best cappuccino I’ve ever had’ and that the hot chocolate is ‘the best money can buy‘.

Now, if mum wants to relax in a cosy atmosphere and enjoy a sweet treat, this is another great little coffee shop on Bridge Street. Their freshly baked cakes and muffins are to die for and they also serve healthy options for anyone on a health kick. If Italian coffee and handmade cakes in a warm, relaxing environment sounds like mum’s idea of the perfect Sunday morning then this is the place to go.
