Local Chamber of Commerce Funds Free Businesses Brexit Bootcamps

West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce (WCNW) has secured government funding to deliver an urgent series of free, practical events over the next two weeks to help businesses get ready for Brexit.

With a no deal Brexit still a possibility, WCNW Chamber is helping local companies make sure they are ready should the UK leave the EU without a deal on 31st October.

Chief Executive Officer at West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce, Debbie Bryce, commented: “Whether you are exporting to the EU, the rest of the world, or both, there are challenges ahead. These may range from strategic operation to origin classification, and the associated cost implications, or simply logistics and associated customs procedures.

“In order to help our businesses community prepare for life outside of the EU, the Chamber is delivering free breakfast events to help plan for the future, as well as offering further support through one-to-one review meetings with our International Trade team.”

This support is open to both Chamber members and non-members across the West Cheshire and North Wales region and is free of charge.

Last week the Chamber held it’s first session in North Wales and two more events are being held in the region over the next two weeks:

· 23/10/2019 08:30 – 10:30 – Mercure Chester Abbots Well Hotel, Whitchurch Road, Christleton, Chester, CH3 5QL

· 30/10/2019 08:30 – 10:30 – Village Hotel Chester St David’s, St Davids Park, Ewloe, Flintshire, CH5 3YB

The local Chamber’s International Trade team is the main export certification office for West Cheshire & North Wales and the team will be providing key advice to help firms plan for Brexit, along with an update on future changes on the required documentation and customs declaration processes.

Delegates attending will also have the opportunity to book one-to-one meetings with the Chamber International Trade Team to undertake a business review and prepare an individualised action plan.

Debbie Bryce added: “Local businesses have growing concerns over the impact Brexit will have on export trends. Our team will be on hand to offer crucial advice over the coming weeks and these free events will be extremely informative for many of the region’s businesses.”
