Sweet Success! Trick or Treat Trail 2019

Sweet Success! Trick or Treat Trail 2019

A ‘spooktacular’ programme of family-friendly events took place in Chester city centre this October, in celebration of Halloween.

The CH1ChesterBID Trick or Treat Trail returned for it 3rd year and was bigger than ever with more than 50 businesses taking part and over 12,000 sweet handed out!

Treats were given out at each of the trail locations, with children also given the chance to spot spooky hidden items to complete their entry form and enter for a chance to win a family meal at Bollicini. The lucky winner this year is Edward (pictured above). Big thank you to Bollicini for kindly donating this prize.

‘He thoroughly enjoyed doing the trail, and is thrilled that he is the winner! Thank you again, such a wonderful event that is put together by you guys, we also did the Easter egg hunt earlier this year and again Edward loved taking part!’ said Suzie, Edwards Mum.

Alongside the trail, there were also craft workshops, film screenings, face painting, food & drinks offers, and ghost tours around Chester which brought the city to life (or death!) between October 14 and November 2.  There was some brilliant photos shared on social media and the team at Chester’s Visitor Information Centre dressed up as some of Chester’s most famous ghosts.

“This year we saw more entry forms handed in than ever before! I spoke to one woman in particular who said that while on the trail with her son she was so impressed with the friendly team at Deva Travel that she was going to head back to book a holiday to New Zealand,” said Isabel Robertson, Manager of Chester’s Visitor Information Centre.

“Last year’s trail was a great success but this years was bigger than ever,” said Emily Ghazarian, Events Manager at CH1ChesterBID.

“Thanks to our partners throughout the city, we had a programme of activities for everyone. Our Halloween programme was a great way to support our local businesses by encouraging families into the city centre to enjoy the trail, the free cinema screenings and the spooky ghost walks.

“Our local businesses have all played a huge part in making this happen, and we hoped everyone who enjoyed this trail will remember to support Chester city centre as we enter the Christmas shopping period.”

Now that Halloween is under our belts be sure to visit: www.experiencechester.co.uk to see the fantastic Gingerbread Christmas events and offers across the city centre this festive season.
