Walls that Have Seen it All!

Walls that Have Seen it All!

Chester’s walls have just got chatty!

Historic buildings across Chester have been given their own voices thanks to a pioneering heritage project using mobile phone technology.

Celebrities including BBC Breakfast news presenter Louise Minchin, former MP and TV presenter Gyles Brandreth and ITV Granada star Lucy Meacock have lent their voices to the ‘Talking Walls of Chester’ initiative.  Twenty-six walls across the city are now in full voice and sharing stories from their past as part of this high tech heritage project commissioned by CH1ChesterBID.

Pass a Talking Wall, swipe your phone on a nearby plaque or type the short url, and presto: your phone rings.  And it’s Chester Cathedral on the line, or the Booth Mansion, or the Grosvenor Museum!

Using drama, off-the-wall humour and mobile technology, Talking Walls breathes new life into the walls that surround us all.
